  • Do I book my chef at the booking agency or directly at FICS?
    You need to book your chef with your tour operator. We will only accept direct bookings from individuals when your tour operator has announced they provide no catering service. We also accept bookings from owners of private chalets. Go to book your chef. Alternatively, you can always send an email to j.poolman@fics.nuor call +316 2505 3697.
  • How does the booking process works step by step?
    1. Does your tour operator know that you want to book our chef? Let your operator know!2a. Let us know whom your tour operator is and when and where you want to be catered by filling in the form book your chef. We will contact your tour operator and arrange your catering. 
OR:2b. if your tour operator agrees upon booking directly with us, please complete the booking form. You will receive confirmation e-mail. We will then contact you to discuss and confirm your booking.
  • Who do I pay?
    As aforementioned, FICS usually does business with your tour operator / travel agency. Usually you will pay the tour operator. You should only pay FICS if you book directly with us. See price list.
  • What if eventually there are more skiers then we originally booked? When do we declare that and to whom? What about the price?
    We accept that the numbers of guests can changes. Please inform us about this change as soon as possible. We do not want our chefs to be surprised when 20 hungry faces show up, when a party of 8 had been agreed. For details see our terms and conditions.
    I can only book for one week?
    The default period is 7 days in the winter. We do accept shorter/ longer booking periods. Please send an email to j.poolman@fics.nuor call +31 6 2505 3697. Alternatively, please fill out the comment-form.
  • What does a chef cost per person? Is it not expensive?
    If you think about what you get in return, it is a great deal. We believe that what we offer is far-better service than the average restaurant in a ski resort. For a group of 12 people, you pay 44 Euros per person per day. Not only do you enjoy a perfect three-course dinner, but also a superb breakfast and a delicious après-ski.
  • I see that you are slightly more expensive than some competitors. Can you explain?
    FICS is tens of dollars per week more expensive than some other suppliers of catering. This money is well spent. We offer professional, highly skilled hospitable chefs who use excellent ingredients and really make delicious meals. You can relax knowingly that you do not have to be concerned about the quality of the food!
  • What does the chef make for us?
    In the morning, you will wake up to a sumptuous breakfast of coffee, tea, orange juice, milk, fresh sandwiches, fresh fruit, cold meats and cheese, confectionery, cruesli cornflakes and yogurt or cottage cheese. If you want, you can have a boiled or fried egg. At approximately 4 pm there is an après-ski surprise ready for your group with always tea and coffee, mulled wine or a specially prepared unexpected treat. Be surprised! In the evening there is a three-course dinner, including 1 / 3 bottle of wine per person.
  • What kind of three-course meal will the chef make for us?
    Our chefs are experienced in fine cuisine. Every day they will make an excellent three-course diner. He or she will make the most out of the chalet kitchen. Our groups love to sit back and allow themselves to be catered for.
  • Can we suggest dietary wishes to the chef?
    The chef will always keep in mind your specific dietary wishes. If you or a member of your party has a specific dietary request e.g. vegetarian or a gluten-free diet, please inform us via the booking form.
  • Who does the dishes?
    Our chef does the dishes in the hours that he is available. If you make dishes in absence of the chef, then he or she appreciates it if you use the dishwasher!
  • Where does the chef sleep?
    Business and pleasure remain separate. After the dinner and dishes are completed, the chef retires to his own accommodation.
  • Has the poor chef any time off?
    Your chef has one day off per week. On this day, breakfast is self-service. In the evening you can go out for dinner or challenge yourself and try to surpass our chef’s meals!
  • Who or what is FICS?
